50 Question Challenge

I stumbled upon the 50 question challenge over at Sleeping Geeks and thought I would give the challenge a shot. Here are my answers to the questions.  

Q1: Who is your favourite male anime character?

Okay, this was a really hard one for me. I have so many characters that I really like but I managed to shrink it down to these three. 

1. Tōshirō Hitsugaya (Bleach)
2. Ulquiorra (Bleach)
3. Gray Fullbuster (Fairy Tail) 

Q2: Who is your favourite female character?

Once again I am torn. Anything that forces me to pick a single favourite is next to impossible for me. I am amazed I managed to narrow it down to three.

1. Virgo (Fairy Tail)
2. Yoruichi (Bleach)
3. Touka Kirishima (Tokyo Ghoul)

Q3: What is your favourite anime soundtrack?

These two never fail to make me happy. When I hear them I honestly become happy and it becomes impossible for me not to smile.

1. Bleach: Number One 
2. Fairy Tail: The Main Theme Song

Q4: What is your favourite anime opening + animation?

Hands down AngelBeats, the piano was stunning and Attack On Titan the first opening song was brilliant. 

Q5: What is your favourite anime ending song + animation?

1. Black Cat: Ending Song 1
2. Bleach: Life Is Like A Boat

Q6: What is your favourite anime scene?

This is a tough one to answer. I have favourite scenes in all the anime I watch so once again picking is difficult.

1. One Punch Man – Saitama just got Sonic in the gonads, poor Sonic, but it was friggen funny.
2. Blood Lad – Staz is an otaku/weeaboo through and through. During one of his fighting scenes he attempts the kamehameha wave. A really proud and amusing moment.
3. Tokyo Ghoul S2 – This was heart breaking and hauntingly tragic.

Q7: If you could meet an anime character who would it be?

Seriously making me choose again? I suppose it would be one of these three.

1. Edward Elric (Full Metal Alchemist)
2. Portgas.D.Ace (One Piece)
3. Urahara kisuke (Bleach)

Q8: What anime character is most similar to you in terms of personality?

I hate to say this but Orihime, at times she is clueless, often in her own world, she is smart and creative. She hates seeing people hurt in front of her and if she can she will help anyone who needs it. At times she has a depth to her that astounds those around her and when she actually tries she excels. Oh and she is a clutz. My only problem is that she is one of those characters that irritate me.

Q9: What is your favorite thing about anime?

The way it can make me feel. I can be having the worst day and just watching a few episodes will alter my mood dramatically making the day good again. That and the friends that I have made because of anime.

Q10: What is your least favorite thing about anime?

Fillers. In. The. Middle. Of. An. Arc.

I’m okay with fillers, enjoy them even, however place the fillers in-between arcs. I know fillers are there to break tension and to give you an alternative story other than the one you have been following but still.

Q11: Who are your favorite anime couple?

Gajeel and Levy from Fairy Tail, this is a no brainer.

Q12: Who is your favorite anime animal?

Frosh from Fairy Tail! He is just too cute in his innocent and naive way. Yet despite how weak he is he stands up and defends his friends.

Q13: What anime would make a good game?

Akame Ga Kill, this would be an epic game if you could have alternate endings and play as each character and need to master their ‘abilities’ through playing their pasts as well as choosing which side you want to be on.

Q14: What game would make a good anime?

I’ve not played that many games and some that I have played don’t even have characters. So by going by the very limited range that I have played, Skyrim would be decent. There are so many ways to move forward with a plot.

Q15: What was the first anime you ever watched?

I have absolutely no idea. I suppose it was one of the traditional ones they played on TV, so Yu-Gi-Oh or Dragon Ball or Pokemon. The first anime I watched knowing was anime, Bleach on a magical channel called Animax that has since been canceled where I am.

Q16: Do you think you’ll ever stop watching anime?

Nope, never, not going to happen. I plan on raising my children on anime and teaching them how to read with manga.

Q17: What is your favorite genre of anime?

Any anime that makes me smile or feel something, whether its excitement or heart ache. I don’t have a particular favourite genre.

Q18: What is your least favorite genre of anime?

I’m not sure, I haven’t seen all of them yet so don’t wanna judge but on a wild guess probably hentai.

Q19: Are you open about watching anime with people you know?

Everyone I know, knows I watch anime. However they are probably not aware of my slight obsession with it.

Q20: Have you ever been to Japan?

No but it is on the future plan. I want to go see the cherry blossoms bloom. Plus seeing their anime stuff would be pretty cool too.

Q21: What anime was the biggest let down for you?

We Were Here.

Oh my soul for me this anime was really pathetic. It seemed as if the main character in this never stopped, whining or crying. If I could I would have reached into the screen and slapped her and told her to grow up.

Q22: What anime was better then expected?

Blood Lad. When I first saw it I wondered if it was worth even watching further, but I did and I love it and I am seriously hoping for a second season, soon. 

Q23: What is the best anime fight scene?

There are a few to choose from. Hmm, definatly a lot of the fight scenes from bleach like Ichigo vs Kenpachi or Bayukia oh and let’s not forget Ulquiorra’s fight either. Honestly I adore Bleach fights and now Fairy Tail has joined the ever growing list of epicness along with other anime. However the one fight that really stands out for me, isn’t amazing in the way of graphics or strength but rather wit. Even though the outcome was predictable but one of the best fight scenes for me is Luffy vs Ussop in One Piece. Ussop held his own and dominated the fight in the beginning which I really didn’t expect.

Q24: Who is your anime waifu/husbando?

I don’t have one. However if I had to choose I guess it would be one of these guys:

1. Urahara kisuke from Bleach – my life would never be boring.
2. Tomoe from Kamisama Kiss – He would be devoted and caring, while looking our for my well being.
3.  Gray Fullbuster – Don’t have an exact reason other than just because.

And now the questions become more personal

Q25: What was your favorite video game as a child?

Legend on Play Station 1. Man those were the good days. However I will admit the graphics have gotten a lot better!

Q26: Most Embarrassing moment?

Walking on the bridge between school buildings. The cleaners had wet the bridge in the middle of winter and the water froze. I am guessing that you can see where this is going. I slipped and fell with a hard landing. On the upside I got to go home early.

27a. Can you drive?

Yes I can. However how well I drive depends on who you ask. In my opinion however I get to my destination alive and well 😉 plus I haven’t been in or caused an accident.

27b. Do you own a car?

No but I am the main driver of a feisty red golf that my mom owns. However I pay for the maintenance and gas, so in a way the car is mine.

28. Are you mature?

I have been told that I am mature for my age. Especially when I speak to people that are quite a bit older than myself. However I do still have my childish side that I let out occasionally.

29. What year were you born?

1993 was the year that saw me into this world, wow how the world has changed in my years.

30. Do you prefer cats or dogs?

I am 100% a cat person. I own two and when I get my own place I plan on getting two Maincoons. They are massive! I appreciate that with a cat you don’t have to give them attention all the time and they are independent. I also like big dogs, small dogs are basically just yappers in my opinion, but they are cute.

31. Describe yourself physically.

I have mid-back length hair that is almost constantly changing colour. Hazel eyes that change between green and brown. My face is spotted with cute freckles. I am roughly 1.6m tall and am always being told how tiny my hands and feet are.

32. What would you name your first child?

I had a name all set out for a baby girl but then Twighlight went and ruined that for me. However for a baby boy I am contemplating Tristan. In my weaker moments I also look to anime and really like the name Gray.

33. What is the worst injury you have ever had?

I have been very lucky in my life to not have had major injury. However I do have two scars. One from walking home in flops eating an ice-cream and not watching where I was going. I cut my foot on a broken beer bottle. My other scar comes from my Tom Cat whom I just adore. Yea, we learnt he is terrified of trucks, at my expense.

34. What is your worse habit?

Biting my nails when I am stressed and also probably pouring a glass of cold drink when I am about to go to bed and then leaving it on my bedside table until I wake up and then pouring the now flat drink down the drain.

35. Do you drink or smoke?

Nah, I have never been one to. I don’t really see the point, I just think of it as a complete waste of money more than anything else.

36. Do you have a tattoo?

Nope, although I do like tattoo’s I am just too scared of the thought of all those needles, the pain and oh yes the blood. Plus I doubt I could actually ever commit to a single tattoo. I’m sure by now you have picked up on my indecision by my lack of committing to a single favourite.

37. Are you a morning person or a night person?

Definitely a night owl.

38. Have you ever slept past midday

Uhm, like every weekend, unless I really have to wake up for something, but hey I usually only hit the pillow once the birds start singing and the sun starts to rise. So does that really count?

39. Do you regret anything?

Lots, but I have learnt many things from my regrets and even if I could go back in time I doubt I would change them.

40. Can you count the number of friends you have on one hand?

True friends who I can really count on? Hmm give me two hands, others who are friends in the sense that I can hang out with them, then I may need extra fingers, perhaps even a couple toes too.

41. Do you wear glasses?

Nope, but I do own a pair from way back when.

42. Are you a picky eater?

I have to say yes, no doubt about it. Espessially when it comes to textures, I have a thing about mixing textures and I am not really sure why. Why jelly and custard? Why not Jelly and then custard?

43. Would you die for someone?

This I can’t answer. I honestly do not know.

44. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Dang it, another question where I need to choose. Hmm either the ability to make whatever I imagine a reality or perhaps that I have complete control of an area around me that I can manipulate however at will.

45. Do you believe in the supernatural?

Yes I do. Life would be rather dull if I didn’t.

46. Would you rather be rich or famous?

Rich, I am not one for the spotlight. Plus if I was rich a lot of my dreams would come true. I could travel, publish my work, oh and of course buy all the anime, manga and merchandise that my heart desires. That came across as a bit selfish right? I would also share my wealth with family and friends, probably.

47. Have you ever committed a crime?

Does not returning a ‘borrowed’ pencil, pen, ruler, highlighter (okay you get the point) count?

48. Time Traveler or Ghost?

Easy-peasy obviously I would be a Time Traveler. I wouldn’t consciously change anything, I would just like to experience certain things and meet various people. Oh and I doubt I could resist going back and spying on my friends to see what they  were like as children.

49. Does someone have a crush on you?

Last I heard yes, I think it’s cute.

50. Are you in a relationship?

Yes I have been for the past three and a half years. I have had a person in my life who has put up with my temper tantrums, tears, anime obsession (I am slowly converting him – gleeful laughter) crazy quirkiness and general insanity. The poor guy, but hey I gotta put up with his stuff too. However I wouldn’t have it any other way.
