5 Romantic anime, that don’t suck too badly

Romance is in the air and couples are flourishing all around making gooey googly eyes at one another and shoving their love down everyone’s throats. To say that I am the lovey dovey type would be a gigantic lie and generally I am not a fan of romance. My idea of a romantic date is curled up on the bed watching a movie at home on my pc with snacks around and le partner watching a movie or show on his laptop. We will usually be watching two separate movies. We each think the other person’s taste sucks so this works out best. Any who, getting back to anime, here is my list of romance anime that didn’t suck too badly.

5. Inu X Boku SS

This romantic anime wasn’t solely focused on romance, can I hear a yay? There are fight scenes, comic relief and typical high school awkwardness with a dash of weird. The characters are unique with a fun twist on old traditions and the new.

  1. 4. From Me To You Kimi ni Todoke

A good choice for those who enjoy watching socially awkward situations and get a kick out of high school dramas.

  1. 3. The Pilots Love Song Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta

There is more to this anime than the romance. I mean characters do die and you feel the feels but this is an anime that can really draw you in so that you actually follow the plot.

  1. 2. Eden of the East

The couple first meet with him being completely naked and with no memory. Fun huh? Plus there are hidden motives and a really confusing and twisting plot line that throws curve balls your way as they try to figure out exactly who he is, why his memory is gone and why he has a mysterious phone that can make anything happen, for a price of course. Intrigued? So was I.

  1. 1 Playful Kiss Itazura na Kiss

This one is number one purely because the guy is an arrogant a** (to the extreme) and the girl is a hopeless moron. Add in the mix a scheming mother and watch the chaos unfold. Some of the episodes were ‘wtf’ but on the whole, it was charming and funny. An anime that I will (and have) watch again.

So that concludes my list of romantic anime that don’t suck too badly. What would you add to this list?

Have a sickly sweet Valentine ’s Day!
