Iki Hiyori

Hiyori comes across as an average human school girl. She wears her school uniform which consists of a lavender sailor shirt and a knee-length skirt. During the anime her clothes do change according to the weather. When we first see her she is wearing a long grey coat over her uniform and a really long pink scarf. She has long brown hair and pink eyes. Unfortunately due to saving Yato, her soul slips out her body. When this happens she has a purple tail which is the cord that connects her to her body. If the cord is ever cut she will die. When her soul slips out it will wear the same clothes that her human body is wearing.

Armed with a strong sense of right and wrong with a kind heart, Hiyori Iki is a close friend helping to guide Yato and Yukine. She is deeply loyal, to the point where she will harm herself to help her friends.

She was raised to be completely lady-like. However she is a huge martial arts fan but hides it from her mother. She has a fixation on a martial artist called Tono, whom she copies her attacks from and will often become inspired and act on his words. Despite wanting to become completely human and stop her soul from slipping out, she has no desire to cut her ties with Yato. She refuses to do so on multiple occasions. Walking on the fineline between the far and near shores Hiyori can see creatures and beings from the far shore. While in her human form she has absolutely no fighting ability, however when she is in her half-phantom form she is a half-decent fighter whit enhanced speed, strength and agility.

Although her relationship with Yato started out as purely business over time they have become close friends. Hiyori thinks of Yukine as a close friend, and younger brother.

Hiyori is voiced by Maaya Uchida in the Japanese (subbed) version and by Bryn Apprill in the English dub.
