The Past Arc

The eleventh Bleach arc is a very short arc of only 6 episodes but it covers quite a bit of history.

This arc takes us back to when Vizards were still part of Soul Society as Captains and vice-captains. It starts off with the promotion of Urahara Kisuke from the 3^rd seat of the 2^nd Squad to Captain of the 12^th Squad. Much to the annoyance of the 12^th squad’s vice-captain, Hiyori. Since becoming the captain, Urahara starts moving his things into the captain’s quarters and changing the focus of the quad. Still refusing to accept Urahara as their new captain Hiyori fights him and resents the changes he is making to the squad.

Realising this, Urahara takes her to his old post, the Maggots Nest, and shows her that he is an expert in hand to hand combat and that there are things in Soul Society that are not as they seem. While he is there he recruits the only person who needed to be separated and confined. He approached Kurotsuchi Mayuri and asks him to become part of the Technological Research Bureau.

A few years later souls start vanishing leaving nothing but their clothing. Squad nine is left to investigate the strange case of the vanishing souls. Urahara is also asked to research it to try stop the souls from vanishing. Strange events happen leading to other squad captains and vice captains going to aid the ninth squad.

This arc uses two pieces of theme music. The opening song is “Velonica” by Aqua Timez and the end song is “Sky Chord (To the Adult You)”) by Shion Tsuj.
