New anime August 2016

Wow I can’t really believe we are already in August. This year truly is flying by. Below are the anime that are coming out this month and there are some really good ones this month. There are quite a few I am excited about.


Nanatsu no Taizai: Seisen no Shirushi


  • Genre: Action, Adventure, Ecchi,Fantasy, Shounen, Supernatural
  • Release Date: 28 Aug
  • Number of episodes: 4

The episodes will be a four-part original story written by mangaka Nakaba Suzuki.


 Aikatsu Stars! Movie


  • Genre: Music, School, Shoujo, Slice of Life
  • Release Date: 13 August

The search for the ‘Legendary Dress’ draws the students of Yotsusei Gakuen to travel to a southern island.

Kizumonogatari II: Nekketsu-hen


  • Genre: Action, Mystery, Supernatural,Vampire
  • Release Date: 19 August

“I think it’s about time I talked about Kiss-Shot-Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade. I believe it’s something I have to do. I met her in the spring break between my second and third years of high school. That meeting had such impact and was also quite devastating.”


Under the Dog


  • Genre: Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller
  • Release Date: 1 August

It is 2025 in Neo Tokyo, five years after a devastating terrorist attack at the Tokyo Olympics. In the wake of the tragedy, the U.N. formed a covert ops unit dedicating to seeking out, then eliminating the people responsible for the terrorist attack. Anthea Kallenberg, a girl of Swedish descent is a member of this elite group who has honed her combat abilities and has become a deadly assassin, however she must come to terms with who she really is.

Gintama: Aizome Kaori-hen


  • Genre: Comedy, Parody
  • Release Date: 4 August

Yoshiwara is besieged by a mysterious incense that has the ability to make whoever smell it fall for the first person they see; poor Tsukuyo is hit, her already secret attraction with Gintoki intensified. In trying to gather the incense, Tsukuyo’s slip-up causes the entire district to be affected by the smoke, including the Yorozuya (and Tae, Kyuubei, and Kondou who happened to be there at the time). Can the Yorozuya and Tsukuyo overcome their afflictions to stop the perpetrator?

Aikatsu! Nerawreta Mahou no Aikatsu Card


  • Genre: Music, School, Shoujo, Slice of Life
  • Release Date: 13 August

This short will be released alongside the Aikatsu Stars! movie.

Akatsuki no Yona: Zeno-hen


  • Genre: ActionComedyFantasyRomanceShoujo
  • Release Date: 19 August

This will be a two-part OVA that will cover the Zeno Arc, which is the backstory of Zeno.

Kamisama Hajimemashita: Kako-hen


  • Genre: Comedy, Demons, Fantasy,Shoujo, Supernatural
  • Release Date: 19 August

This will cover volumes 14-17 of the manga reveiling the past of Tomoe and Akihito. Where does Nanami fit into there pasts and how can she avoid changing their futures?

Gundam Build Fighters Try: Island Wars


  • Genre: Action, Mecha, Sci-Fi
  • Release Date: 21 August

Shounen Maid OVA


  • Genre: Comedy, Shoujo, Slice of Life
  • Release Date: 24 August

An unaired episode that will be bundled with the third Blu-ray and DVD volume.

Mujaki no Rakuen


  • Genre: Comedy, Ecchi, Romance,School, Seinen
  • Release Date:  23 August
  • Rating: R+ – Mild Nudity

25-year-old NEET, Shouta is mocked by his former female classmates who’ve all become successes, at their class reunion. However a mysterious incident happens at the at the school pool and it throws him back in time to when they were if 5th grade. He takes this opportunity to deal with those same classmates.

Gundam Build Fighters Try: Extra Battle Go Fight!!


  • Genre: Mecha, Sci-Fi
  • Release Date: August (not sure when exactly)

  1. Writer-director David Ayer doesn’t have the right graphic technique for a comic-book-style jamboree — he’s strictly a noirish-pulp guy — and the characters, all of whom are promisingly introduced, fizzle fast.
