About:

Risa Koizumi is a normal high-school girl except of the fact that she is over 170cm tall. Atsushi Otani is a normal high-school boy, only he is 156cm tall. The duo are dubbed as the “All Hanshin Kyojin” after a popular comedy duo that has a similar height difference.  Conscious of her height Risa is attracted to Ryouji Suzuki who is a handsome boy in another class who is also tall. Atsushi also has a crush on one of Risa’s friends. The duo decide to put aside their differences and help each other get their love interests. Their efforts fail spectacularly as Suzuki and the girl whom Ōtani had a crush on – Chiharu Tanaka – end up becoming a couple. All is not lost though, since Risa and Ōtani become close friends. As they get to know each other better, Risa’s feelings for Atsushi begin to blossom, and her love life gets complicated from there on.

My Thoughts:

The first time I tried to watch this I got through  the first 10 minutes of the episode, thought no way and moved onto a different anime. Since then my 5 episode rule has been implemented and I gave this one another look. Amazingly I enjoyed the comedy duo and the light-hearted dramas as they unfolded. The intro song I did not really enjoy and that was part of why I avoided this anime for so long. On the whole it is a sweet anime with some unexpected twists and turns. I was really surprised by the true identity of one of the characters and at the same time really amused!  I will probably rewatch it in the distant future or if I ever feel like watching something that doesn’t take much commitment.
