World Otaku Day 2017

This year will be my third year celebrating this amazing day! Even though previously I had searched high and low to find out if this day is in fact a real day only to find that the origin of the day is uncertain and that the day is still technically ‘unofficial.’  Yet as an otaku myself, I decided stuff it and have since celebrated the day.  So I have proudly drawn the ‘otaku symbol’ on my wrist for the day to help identify me as an otaku and am keeping  a north eye out to see if I can spot anyone else with the mark.

If you want to learn more about the day itself, click here to see what the day is all about and its history. There is quite a big group of people who acknowledge today to be ‘World Otaku Day’ and I am proudly one of them. With today being a Friday I do not need to worry about being awake early tomorrow for anything it means I can watch more anime than I normally do and can stay up to watch the sun rise. That is a rather special moment for me.

Today I plan to watch:

  • One Piece
  • Inuyakshi
  • Black Clover
  • Shokugeki no Souma

I have really fallen behind these past few weeks and I plan to catch up all in one go.

I also plan to read:

  • Any new chapters that came out today
  • Shingeki no Kyojin
  • To You, The Immortal
  • Ubel Blatt

Today was also made extra special for me since it is my last official work day for the year opening up three weeks of bliss! I only need to worry about work again next year! Whoop whoop!

So will you be joining in on the otaku madness this world otaku day? If so, how do you plan to celebrate?

Now all that is left to say is,

Happy World Otaku Day!
