10 Anime I am watching this season

I decided that I would give a quick list of the anime that I am looking forward to releasing this fall season and the anime that I will be watching. Below is a list of ten that I have singled out (and notarised in my diary) that I plan to watch.

Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai

kimi-no-suizou-wo-tabetai-posterWhat is it about: A high school boy who finds the diary of his classmate—and discovers that she is dying. Sakura Yamauchi has been silently suffering from a pancreatic disease in school, and now exactly one person outside her family knows. The two have very little in common, but they find themselves drawn to each other in Sakura’s final months to live.

Why I want to watch it: This seems like it will be a sad one to watch but I really want to watch it. At first I was curious thanks to the English name for this anime – Let Me Eat Your Pancreas – and then I read what it was about and watched the trailer.

Yarichin☆Bitch-bu

yarichinu2606bitch-bu.jpgWhat is it about: An all-boys boarding school deep in the mountains where love unfolds. First-year Toono transfers from Tokyo to the all-boys boarding school deep in the mountains, “Mori Moori Private School.” The friendly Yaguchi who calls out to him becomes his only friend, but his dislike of sports makes him join the most laid-back looking photography club instead of Yaguchi’s soccer club. However, the photography club is in name only and is actually nicknamed the “Yarichin Bitch Club,” filled with colourful seniors.

Why I want to watch it: I read the manga for this ages ago and I am really curious to see how they will be bringing this Yaoi to life. I am sure I will cringe my way through the some of the scenes just like I did with the manga. I am honestly of two minds with regards to this one and am dreading it on one side and on the other I am so looking forward to it.

Akanesasu Shoujo

What is it about: Girls who live in a provincial city perform a certain ritual. The girls are in the “Crystal Radio Club.” It is an interest circle that Asuka Tsuchimiya, a girl known for her cheerfulness, started with friends in her high school. That ritual was considered just an urban legend. However, with several conditions coincidentally falling into place, it stops being fun and games…

Why I want to watch it: I am intrigued by the write up and am in the mood to watch something that is not my typical watch. Plus I usually enjoy similar types of ‘drama/mystery’ stories.

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken

What is it about:  Rimuru Tempest” is the new name of a slime in a fantasy world taken by a former 37-year-old human Satou Mikami after he is killed by a passing robber. Broken free from ordinary, stale past life, his fresh adventure in a fantasy world as a slime monster with unique abilities begins

Why I want to watch it: The moment I found out this was getting an anime adaption I was excited. Now that it is finally arriving I can not wait. Honestly this is one of the anime I am most looking forward to releasing this season.  I absolutely love this manga and when a new chapter is released I stop everything and quickly read it. I just hope the anime does a decent adaptation.

Bakumatsu

What is it about: The heroine meets a man who gives her a pocket watch somehow leading to a Torii in a shrine, and suddenly it warps her into the Bakumatsu period. In the world of where there is such a difference in importance of value, she tries to find a way to go back. When she meets a man who has crossed time and says, “I will live for you,” a love story between the two blossoms.

Why I want to watch it: I am sceptical about this choice but I figured why not? I am hoping that this one is one of those random choices that will pay off rather than being a disappointment. The write up leads me to believe it will be a romance with some comedy and mystery. Well, we shall see.

Double Decker! Doug & Kirill

What is it about: The city state of Lisvalletta. Two suns rise above this city, and the people here live peaceful lives, but in the shadows crime and illegal drugs run rampant. Among them is the dangerous, highly lethal drug “Anthem” which casts a dark shadow over the city. The SEVEN-O Special Crime Investigation Unit specialises in cracking down on Anthem. This unit operates in two man “buddy” teams in what’s called the “Double Decker System” to tackle the problem. Doug Billingham is a seasoned investigator, and joining him is Kirill Vrubel, whose abilities are mysterious and unknown.

Why I want to watch it: Once again I picked this one on a whim and it seems like the type of story line I enjoy. That and I like the way the characters look.

Ulysses: Jeanne d’Arc to Renkin no Kishi

What is it about: The story is set in the 15th century, during the Hundred Years’ War between France and England over the succession to the French throne. Montmorency, the son of a noble, immerses himself in the studies of magic and alchemy at a royal knight training school. However, following France’s crushing defeat at Agincourt, the school is dissolved. Having lost everything and now a wanted man, Montmorency, who had just become an alchemist, encounters a mysterious village girl named Jehanne.

Why I want to watch it: Magic, action, history (kinda) and a name that reminds me Joan of Arc. That was all I needed to add this one to my list.

Anima Yell!

What is it about: Kohane Hatoya, a young woman who loves to be helpful to others. After she moves from middle school to high school, she becomes fascinated with cheerleading, and she starts a cheerleading club at her high school. Joining Kohane in her cheerleading activities is the experienced Hizume and Kohane’s childhood friend Uki.

Why I want to watch it: I was once upon a time a cheerleader and this just brought back some fun memories. Also taking into account my interest in cheerleading was first peaked thanks to Kim Possible so, this is one I added to my list with out much further thought. I know it won’t be anything like Kim Possible but any animation with emphasis on cheerleading always has me interested, at least in the beginning.

Goblin Slayer

What is it about: A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue—a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumours of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…

Why I want to watch it: I was reminded of one of the manga I am currently reading. I also watched a preview and I liked the animation and action. I am curious about goblin stories at the moment and the style of story.

Usuzumizakura: Garo

What is it about: Set during the Heian Period, Kyo is a beautiful city that is proud of its glory. Two beautiful onmyouji meet, and the sad and short-lived beautiful cherry blossom starts to stir after 1000 years.

Why I want to watch it: Cherry-blossoms. Yeah, cherry-blossoms. That’s a big factor for me to watch this, another is the art. The story itself was the final lure for me. I just hope that this is not going to be super slow and drawn out. I just want it to be a decently paced story.

‘NEXT SEASONS’

The two below were really on my list before I even knew when they would be coming out. There is no way I would be missing out on these releases either. But since they are continuations I did not want to include them in on my season list since they are not new anime.

Tokyo Ghoul:re 2nd Season

Fairy Tail Season 3

Well there you have it, the list of anime that have caught my attention for this season. There are others that I shall be keeping an eye on and waiting to read a review or two before watching.

What anime are you planning on watching this fall? (^^,)

  1. On my end, I am craving for Goblin Slayer and Iroduku Sekai no Ashita kara. While Tokyou Ghoul:re and Fairy Tail are among the giants that I am looking forward to see. For the movies, I am excited for I want to eat your Pancreas, and Natsume’s Book of Friends movie.

  2. So happy to see someone else looking forward to Bitch Club!!!! I have been waiting all year for this one and it is honestly the only anime for this season I am interested in, which of course gives me a chance to catch up on my backlog! I just really hope they don’t mess it up T_T because I adore the manga and am currently rereading it. Also I have Yuri’s version of the op touch you as my alarm tone on my phone lol

  3. Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai definitely sounds like something to look forward to, its manga and movie having been so successful.
As for the Jeanne d’Arc show, you’re definitely right in thinking of Joan of Arc, because Joan’s was actually called Jeanne d’Arc in French. I don’t have high hopes for that series in particular, but it’s always fun to see anime’s take on (butchering of) history.

  4. I’m looking forward to Goblin Slayer because I’m curious as to whether it will be as dark as some moments in the light novel are or whether it is going to end up being generic isekai. Otherwise, there’s quite a few titles in the line up for next season that I’m curious to try first episodes of so I’ll figure out my watch list once the season starts.
