10 Anime I am watching this season

December brings with it the new season of anime. Meaning that we are now in the Winter 2018/2019 season of anime. I decided I should probably have a look at what is coming out and when. So while planning my anime time I put together the 10 anime that I will be watching from this season.

Boogiepop wa Warawanai

What is it about: There is an urban legend that children tell one another about a shinigami that can release people from the pain they may be suffering. This “Angel of Death” has a name: Boogiepop. The legends are true. Boogiepop is real. When a rash of disappearances involving female students breaks out at Shinyo Academy, the police and faculty assume they just have a bunch of runaways on their hands. But Nagi Kirima knows better.

Why I want to watch it: The write up intrigued me so I searched for the trailer and it looks like it could be a good one to watch

Dororo

What is it about: A samurai lord has bartered away his newborn son’s organs to forty-eight demons in exchange for dominance on the battlefield. Yet, the abandoned infant survives thanks to a medicine man who equips him with primitive prosthetics—lethal ones with which the wronged son will use to hunt down the multitude of demons to reclaim his body one piece at a time, before confronting his father. On his journeys, the young hero encounters an orphan who claims to be the greatest thief in Japan.

Why I want to watch it: It seems like the kind of anime I will enjoy.

Papa Datte, Shitai

What is it about: “There are Times I Cannot Hold It, Even If I’m a Father”

University student Asumi came to Naruse household to be a housekeeper for his part-time job. The family consists of a single-father and a son Ichika. Among them, the father Naruse is too sexy for Asumi!! Even if he is not gay, Asumi gets conscious of Keiichi, and when he noticed that Keiichi is sexually unsatisfied by noticing him watching adult video in his room, he would unconsciously get tempted to attack him…! “Naruse-san, you’re too sexy for a father with a child…!”

Why I want to watch it: I read the manga for this and I am wondering how well it has been adapted into an anime.

Pastel Memories

What is it about: The story takes place in a future Akihabara where otaku culture has declined. Players play as a shopkeeper of an otaku shop. Together with the heroines who are in fact otaku girls, the shopkeeper starts helping people claim their lost otaku memories back.

Why I want to watch it: It seems like it could be a fun and cute anime to watch.

Revisions

What is it about:  Daisuke Toujima is a second-year high school student who was abducted when he was young. He was involved in a special phenomenon—Shibuya Drift—with his childhood friends Gai, Ru, Marimari, and Keisaku. They were transferred to the centre of Shibuya over 300 years into the future. What’s waiting for them is endless wilderness and forest, Interspersed ruin, future citizens, and “Revisions” which are huge mechanical monsters. Trampled by the monsters without understanding the situation, a girl who has the same name as the person who saved Daisuke when he was abducted, Miro, provided a mobile suit “String Puppet” and told them to save Shibuya. With separated paths, adversaries, destined prophecies, the boys, and girls are on their journey to return to their original time.

Why I want to watch it: Time travel is an interesting part for me. I want to see what is going to happen and if their time travel will all make sense.

Yakusoku no Neverland

What is it about: Emma, Norman and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn – what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing. Their orphanage is a farm to cultivate food for a mysterious race of demons.

Why I want to watch it: This one has been on my to watch list for a while and now finally the season is here! The whole concept of the anime had me hooked. I want to see how this is adapted from the manga.

Domestic na Kanojo

What is it about: High schooler Natsuo is hopelessly in love with his cheerful and popular teacher, Hina. However, one day at a mixer, he meets a moody girl by the name of Rui and ends up sleeping with her. Soon after, his father announces that he’s getting remarried to a woman with two daughters of her own. And who shows up in tow, other than both Hina and Rui?! Natsuo’s outrageous new life starts now!

Why I want to watch it: I read the manga and enjoyed the trials and tribulations. I am really looking forward to the anime.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

What is it about: Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane are two geniuses who stand atop their prestigious academy’s student council, making them the elite among elite. But it’s lonely at the top and each has fallen for the other. There’s just one huge problem standing in the way of lovey-dovey bliss—they’re both too prideful to be the first to confess their romantic feelings and thus become the “loser” in the competition of love! And so begins their daily schemes to force the other to confess first!

Why I want to watch it: I am starting to see a trend here, I read the manga for this one as well. I found it quite comical and sweet. So I am hoping that the anime is too.

It’s My Life

What is it about: Astra Ludger Doomsday, former captain of the royal knights has finally achieved his dearest wish: To retire and use his savings to get his very own house. But not long after finally arriving at his sanctuary, a young girl crash-lands into his house. The girl is an apprentice witch and seems to mistake Astra for someone else.

Why I want to watch it: To finally achieve your wish and have it interrupted, would it be a blessing or a curse? I want to watch and find out.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari

What is it about: Naofumi Iwatani, an uncharismatic otaku who spends his days on games and manga, suddenly finds himself summoned to a parallel universe! He discovers he is one of four heroes equipped with legendary weapons and tasked with saving the world from its prophesied destruction. As the Shield Hero, the weakest of the heroes, all is not as it seems. Naofumi is soon alone, penniless, and betrayed. With no one to turn to, and nowhere to run, he is left with only his shield. Now, Naofumi must rise to become the legendary Shield Hero and save the world!

Why I want to watch it: No surprise but, I am reading the manga. Honestly, I am surprised by the number of anime releases are coming out that I have read the manga for. Once again I am wanting to watch it to see how it has been adapted. It could be either really good or really bad.

‘NEXT SEASONS’

The below were really on my list before I even knew when (or if) they would be coming out. There is no way I would be missing out on these releases. But since they are continuations I did not want to include them in on my season list since they are not new anime.

Douluo Dalu 2nd Season

Strike the Blood III

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan Conclusion

Mob Psycho 100 II

Kakegurui××

Piano no Mori 2nd Season

Well, there you have it, the list of anime that have caught my attention for this season. There are others that I shall be keeping an eye on and waiting to read a review or two before watching.

What anime are you planning on watching this winter season? (^^,)
