12 Fan Recommended Halloween Anime

I put a post up on my various social media platforms asking people what anime they would recommend for Halloween. Below are the resulting anime recommendations. I selected the ones that had the most mentions, other than that, I had no input or influence on the list.

They work towards reaching the goal of the demon weapons evolving into Death Scythes to be used by Lord Death himself and renowned Meisters. They take on numerous missions to collect all of the souls needed and to protect the world and city from all that threatens it, all while balancing school and becoming sounder in mind, body, and soul.

In a world where man-eating beings known as Ghouls walk and live secretly amongst humans, Keneki Ken is a shy but normal college student with a fondness towards reading. One day while in a coffee shop he meets Rize Kamishiro, a fellow book lover. They agree to go out on a date, but then things go horribly wrong. Kaneki wakes up in the hospital, no longer the person he once was. He now finds himself struggling to find where he belongs all while trying to make sense of what he has become.

One moment everything was alright and the next it was complete chaos. While fleeing the hoard of zombies and trying to escape the school Takashi takes along his ex-girlfriend Rei Miyamoto vowing to protect her. The pair join up with the Kendo club president, Saeko Busujima, firearms otaku, Kouta Hirano, a politician’s daughter, Saya Takagi and their airheaded school nurse, Shizuka Marikawa. However, when they get out of the school, they realise, society has been wiped out.

Faced with dying and barren land, Daigo Kagemitsu is desperate for a solution and power and he is willing to do and give anything in order to get it. He makes a deal with 12 demons promising whatever they want. Soon after his firstborn son is born limbless, skinless and missing his nose, ears and eyes but is still miraculously alive. Abandoned in the river, the newborn is found by a wandering medicine man who raises him and fits him with prosthetics and weapons as he grows. Although the boy can not see, feel or hear anything he can sense demons near him. He starts hunting demons (without knowing why when he kills certain demons, he regains his missing parts). After years of travelling alone, he is joined by the orphan Dororo who starts to teach him more about the world.

With his newly turned vampire servant, Seras Victoria, Alucard is to exterminate everything that his master tells him to and ultimately save the world.

Ghost stories and promise to always remain friends, what could possibly go wrong? High School students gather in their classroom one night to host a mini-farewell to their friend and swap ghost stories. When it is time to head home they first perform a ritual with a paper doll as a promise to always remain friends. However, something goes horrendously wrong. They find themselves scattered across an elementary school that had been abandoned years ago. While looking for each other and a way out, they are hunted by vengeful ghosts of the past.

The pair are forced to work together – after a few threats to iron out the kinks – in order to survive, because the parasitic being, Migi did not arrive alone.

Ganta is the sole survivor from the massacre of his class. He has no memories of the massacre, he can only remember the ‘Red Man’. To gloss it over, he is sentenced to death and is imprisoned at Dead Man Wonderland. When arriving at the prison Ganta is fitted with a collar that releases poison into his system. To survive he must earn cast points so that he can but an antidote in the shape of a piece of candy, which he needs to consume once every few days. To earn enough cast points Ganta needs to partake in deadly games, he is aided by a mysterious girl, Shino who claims to be his friend and only seems interested in food.

Shuuichi Kagaya has a secret, he doesn’t know why but occasionally he turns into a monster. She soon tracks him down and forces him to confess that he can transform into a monster and then uses that knowledge to blackmail him. He learns that Claire is searching for her sister who disappeared after killing their parents with her abilities. They discover quite quickly that there are others out there and that they aren’t the only ones searching for answers.
