World Otaku Day Plans!

World Otaku day sneaks up on me every year, even though I know it happens every 15 December. This year, however, I am a lot more prepared. I started celebrating this day back in 2015. This year I am giving the anime community around AllAnimeMag a chance to join in on my celebration of this day.

What shall I be doing for this day for myself and my fellow anime and manga otaku?

Movie streams on Discord

I put out a question and as a community, we decided to stream an anime movie, rather than a series. This then led to a poll deciding on which movie to stream. Taking in all of the votes from across all of my social media platforms, the result was a surprise to me. We shall be streaming Belle and Akira.

Anime Calendars

Since 2016 I have been sharing the anime calendars that I make here on the blog. This year will be no different. This year, however, I started making the calendars early, which means I can start sharing them earlier. Thanks to Nischalkant Singh for prompting me on my Tokyo Ghoul calendar from this year and Lyz for commenting on my Jujutsu Kaisen calendar. You two really kickstarted my start on the calendars. The first free anime calendar will be going live here on the blog on the 15th.

My personal plans for world otaku day

For the day, I will continue with my planned anime binges of Sailor Moon, Naruto Shippuden, Bleach and One Piece. I also plan to continue reading the daily updates to the manga series I am following. I am contemplating heading to my local library to see if I can find any manga or light novels available. That, and I want to see if they have any famous books that feature in anime like Kokoro by Natsume Soseki.

As for the ‘otaku mark’, just like every year before, I shall be writing ^w^ on my wrist and displaying it proudly.

Do you have any plans for World Otaku Day this year?
