March is almost here, and you know what that means—it’s time for the Anime March Madness challenge! I’ve attempted this challenge before, and while I didn’t quite reach 31 anime last time, I had an incredible time watching, reviewing, and sharing my progress.

For my 31-day Anime March Madness Challenge, I decided to focus on anime that I’ve started but never actually finished. My on-hold list has been growing for far too long, and it’s time to clear it up! Rather than starting something new, I’m making an effort to go back and complete the series I paused for one reason or another.

Some of these were put on hold because life got busy, others because I got distracted by a different show, and a few because I wasn’t quite in the right mood at the time. But now I’m giving them the attention they deserve and finally seeing how they end!

It’s a mix of genres, from action-packed adventures to romance, isekai, and even some hidden gems I’ve been meaning to revisit. Hopefully, by the end of this challenge, I’ll have a much cleaner on-hold list—and maybe even some new favourites!

I’ve got a backlog that’s become a bit of a monster, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to finally clear some of it out. It’s a mix of revisiting old favourites and finally getting to see how those stories end.

  2. A Sign of Affection [Yubisaki to Renren]
  3. Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian

  28. Wind Breaker
  29. Wistoria – Wand and Sword
  30. X&Y
  31. Yakuza Fiancé

This list is subject to change because let’s be honest—I’m indecisive! Based on my past experience with this challenge, I know that the list serves more as a guide rather than a strict plan. It helps me narrow down my anime selection and streamline the decision-making process, but I like to keep some flexibility.

I also have a few backup anime on hand, including series I haven’t explored yet and some quick-to-watch options for when time is tight. These backups include anime movies, short-form series with episodes under 10 minutes, and mini-series with only 4–6 episodes. That way, no matter what happens, I can still keep up with the challenge without feeling overwhelmed!

Think you can complete 31 anime in 31 days? Whether you’re watching to clear your backlog, discover new anime, or just have fun, I invite you to take on the Anime March Madness Challenge with me!

The last time I did this, a few others joined me in this challenge, using it as an opportunity to clear their watchlists. This year, a number of people have agreed to join in on the madness and take it on in their own way. I am really looking forward to it.

How to Participate:

  • Pick 31 anime (or decide on the go). [Hard mode]
