  1. Even in 2024, this Naruto calendar remains timeless! It’s amazing how anime continues to capture hearts. This calendar is a true gem for any fan. Thanks for sharing this!

  2. Some good antagonists:

Angela, from Carole & Tuesday, actually believes in fair competition and multiple times goes to bat for the title-ed musical duo, but her fame and talent serves as a great opposing force even as she faces her own significant adversity.

Satsuki Kiryuin from Kill la Kill is an incredibly skilled fighter, but it is her force of will and uncompromising determination to carry out her master plan that drives so much of the show.

Akane Shinjo from SSSS.Gridman is a fantastically flawed character who isn’t the true villain but whose actions and struggles make her at least as interesting as any of the heroes.

There is no single villain in Steins;Gate, but the shadowy SERN organization, who does everything from running unwitting spies to outright murder, makes a wonderfully powerful opposing force to a certain self-proclaimed mad scientists.

  3. This post was really interesting! I didn’t know the history behind Anime Day. Thank you for reminding me when it was. I wonder if my local comic shop is going to do anything to celebrate?

  4. I have watched Nobless. I started watching Noragami but I got a bit bored of it so I never finished it.
Nura: Rise of the Youkai Clan is on my PtW list.

I would say that the following anime could be similar to Nichijou so you may want to check them out:
    Joshikousei no Mudazukai
    Asobi Asobase
    Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou

More anime starting with the letter N:
    Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu
Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu
Natsu e no Tunnel, Sayonara no Deguchi
    Net-juu no Susume
    Neko no Ongaeshi
    Ningyo no Kizu
    Ningyo no Mori
    Night Walker: Mayonaka no Tantei
    Nokemono-tachi no Yoru

    1. Found your comment, yay! I still need to watch season 2 of Nura. I shall look into those, never heard of most of whats on your list (unless I just know it under a different name) I will be checking those out, thanks!

      1. Yay!!
You may do. I am used to using Japanese titles.
You’re most welcome! I hope you find something that you like 🙂

  5. Very good review! You did a great job of presenting the best highlights of the series. I’ve reviewed this series a couple times, and I feel like I often get too focused on pointing out how long the Dark Tournament is, and kind of forget to point out that it also has a lot of good parts too. I really do like this series, and I think that gets lost in my reviews. This review is really good and optimistic, I’ll try to learn from it!

  6. I have been reading Kubo Won’t Let Be Invisible manga and it’s adorable. I highly recommend it. I might watch the anime once I finish reading the story. I might also check out The Dangers in My Heart. A friend of mine said it has a good story and characters.

  7. Huh, I wonder why it’s going to be a donghua instead of an anime? Usually it’s Japanese studios that pick up Korean manhwa for adaptations. I mean, it’s a great story, so as long as they follow the source material it’s going to be good, it’s just a little surprising.

  8. Ooo, sounds interesting! I’m looking forward to the future posts. You mentioned that you will be posting a letter at random, does that mean that they will not be in alphabetical order?

  9. Ooo, coloring pages! Due to health reasons I’ve decided to cut added sugar out of my diet, so I’ve been kind of bummed that I couldn’t have an advent calendar this year (Usually I get one filled with chocolate). This looks like a fun sugar free replacement!

  10. Yes, this is such a good series! I recently rewatched Yuyu Hakusho a couple months ago, and I was surprised at how good it was and how much I enjoyed it the second time around. Kuwabara really is a great character that grows on you. I completely agree, Yusuke looks so much better with his hair down! With his hair down, it’s a little reminder that he’s just 14 or 15 years old, not the hardened street punk he tries to be.

    1. It still baffles me that they are taking on so much responsibility when they are so young! There are moments where I forget it and then the series forcibly reminds me. I already know I shall be giving this a rewatch but so far I am really enjoying my first run through.

  11. Hmm, very interesting post! I’ve heard the term “eye catch”, but I never knew what it meant. I always referred to them as “intermezzo/intermissions”. In very old movies it was common to have a intermission in the middle to allow viewers to use the restroom or get a snack. And movie intermissions were inspired by theatrical play intermissions. During movie intermissions there would often be a short animated film, or a news reel shown, while during a play intermission there could be a second tier comedy skit or just a catchy tune played. I used to love super old black and white movies when I was a kid, and I was always a little disappointed when modern movies theaters never had intermissions. When I started watching anime, the little extra in the middle just seemed so natural and a nice extra touch that we usually don’t get to enjoy in the modern media.

  12. Hmm, some of these sound pretty good! I would definitely watch Onmyoji. Too bad I don’t have Netflix. Maybe these anime will show up on CrunchyRoll or HiDive sometime in the future?

  13. Eventually I will watch the series. Right now I am reading the manga and it’s super good. I think I enjoy this series than Hunter x Hunter. I like Yusuke and Kurama.

  14. I forgot we’re getting a live action YuYu Hakusho series. I just hope it’s good as One Piece. I am keeping my expectations low, but I might give this series a shot.
