I have been adding more and more quotes to the blog and my social platforms lately.
I have been collecting quotes that make me react in some way. They make me laugh, gasp, cringe, remember, feel, anything. If it caught my attention, I noted it down. This quickly grew to a list of over 1000 anime quotes, which I am now just sitting with.
So I decided to use them. Then I was left with the dilemma of deciding which quotes I would use when. To make it easier on myself, I have decided that only quotes that are from the English Dub will be used. I can at least confidently verify and confirm what was said. Then I will use a random number generator and select a quote a day. Or at least attempt to post a quote a day across all the social platforms that I am on.
This Week in Anime Quotes
Hisoka Has Standards

“I do have standards.”
~ Hisoka Morow, Hunter × Hunter, Season 1, Episode 15 19:03 (English Dub)
- Date posted: 2 March 2026
Hisoka’s quiet statement carries an unsettling weight because it reveals the twisted way he chooses his opponents. In a strange way, the fact that he has standards makes him even more unsettling than if he had none at all.
Kakashi’s Promise

“I will not allow my comrades to die.”
~ Kakashi Hatake, Naruto, Season 1, Episode 8 02:35 (English Dub)
- Random number chosen: 742 out of 1070
- Date posted: 4 March 2026
Kakashi’s words land differently from the usual declarations of strength in Naruto. He isn’t promising victory or glory. Instead, he is drawing a line in the sand about the one thing he refuses to accept. That makes the moment feel less like a battle cry and more like a quiet but powerful promise.
Ayato’s Cold Dismissal

“Your opinion is irrelevant to me.”
~ Ayato Sakamaki, Diabolik Lovers, Season 1, Episode 2 05:11 (English Dub)
- Random number chosen: 389 out of 1070
- Date posted: 5 March 2026
This line perfectly reflects Ayato’s arrogant and dominant personality in Diabolik Lovers. His blunt dismissal of others highlights the ruthless confidence that defines many of the Sakamaki brothers, making moments like this stand out for how clearly they reveal his character.
Kenji vs Real Life

“It’s too bad real life isn’t more like comic books. Maybe then I’d actually have a chance.”
~ Kenji Harima, School Rumble, Season 1, Episode 15 03:09 (English Dub)
- Random number chosen: 914 out of 1070
- Date posted: 6 March 2026
Harima expresses his unrequited love through the lens of comic-book fantasy, blending humour with genuine vulnerability. When I first heard the line, it also made me think about life in general. In a comic book, even when things go badly, you know the story will eventually turn around and lead to something better.
Sheele’s Comfort

“I promise not to tell anybody else about this, so go on and cry as much as you need to.”
~ Sheele, Akame ga Kill, Episode 5 14:35 (English Dub)
- Random number chosen: 56 out of 1070
- Date posted: 8 March 2026
Sheele has always been one of the gentlest characters in Akame ga Kill!, and this moment really shows it. Despite living in a violent world and working as an assassin, her instinct is to protect someone’s vulnerability rather than exploit it. Her quiet promise creates a rare safe space for grief, reminding us that sometimes the most meaningful kindness is simply allowing someone to cry without fear or judgment.
