MAYONAKA PUNCH Episode 3 – A New Member Joins! DEAD or ALIVE
Gambling, or more specifically, Pachinko, opens the scene with a new purple-haired character. She might just be a new character with a prominent role in the series. From the size of her bust, initial character introduction, and the NewTuber backing into her face with his butt, I can not help but wonder if she is going to be the fanservice or bait character of the series.

The new video concept is a weird direction, but I can see how Masaki is aiming for a comedic video with entertainment value. Masaki receiving criticism is good, and I am glad that the series is providing more realistic outcomes for the videos. Being given a specific timeline for when they started the channel is interesting, and I am grateful to have it. Three weeks. Coming from the success of their previous channel, Chu-Chu Girls, I can understand why Masaki is feeling disheartened by the new channel, Mayonaka Punch’s analytics. Still 217 subscribers in 3 weeks is not bad.

The comment section is actually giving genuinely useful feedback – I like that. Glad that people are recognising the girls are from Chu-Chu. A creative block is never fun, that blankness is frustrating and gruelling when it hits. I adore Ichiko’s ideas for what fruit she should try on. Masaki reeling her in with the reality of how much money that video would cost to make grounds the series in reality. However, how she communicated the cost was blunt and delivered poorly..

Tokage, the name of the purple-haired lady we met at the beginning of the episode gets introduced. She provides a ‘word salad’ worthy line about how life is like gambling (featured below as a quote) while revealing that she is broke. A tad more world-building and lore formation with the revelation that Live is centuries older than Tokage who is at least 200 years old. Demanding a 50/50 split of the profits from the channel is wild when there are 4 people part of the channel already. I love that Masaki not only tore up the content ideas but was also challenged head-on. Live’s desire to help Masaki is great to see and the content hunt around their house is fun.
Using Live’s greatest desire, Masaki manipulates her into helping her open Tokage’s door. Live fell for it so easily. She really is weak for Masaki’s blood. Tokage’s room is the answer, or rather her centuries’ worth of accumulated junk is. Let the cleaning video begin.

Ichiko is adorably clueless with well-intended actions. Live kicking Tokage out of her bedroom window takes a lot of skill. Why is Masaki still filming when she knows she cannot use the footage? The following ‘fight’ did not take much time, but I was surprised at the amount of blood splatter.

Masaki was busted so quickly with the return of Yuki. I am glad to see Masaki standing up for everyone. Watching the memory card being destroyed made me wince. I hope she can save the second one. Even with the pleading of Live and Tokage, the sound of the memory card being broken made me flinch. It is painful to lose data. Tokage negotiating while facing punishment is a boss move. Suddenly they have a mukbang on their agenda as part of punishment- eating a massive pile of raw garlic cloves. That’s going to hurt, vampire or not.

Is Yuki the only vampire that has a personality change when forced to eat garlic? The others are still themselves, even though they are suffering. Never mind, Fū and Ichiko have lost their minds. Followed by Live. Yuki experienced way too much joy when she punched Yuki in the face. Well done to Tokage for completing that challenging punishment.

I wondered when it would happen but Masaki is finally moving into the Banpire manor. Mentioning that MayoPan isn’t a monetised channel yet was a great way to wrap up the episode. I am glad that this episode did not turn Tokage into a fan-service character.
