When the Isekai Quartet anime first aired, I had not watched all of the series that are featured in the anime. So I put it on hold. I took my time watching a multitude of Isekai anime and then I wondered, had I watched the ones featured? Was I ready to take on this chibi crossover. I was not. I still did not know all or the anime featured. It was not until second season’s imminent release that I confirmed I had watched all of the anime related to season one. I realised it was the fact that I did not know what anime were featured that kept me back from watching the series. I did not want to miss out on any inside jokes or miss quirks of the characters. So I started on this post.

I started writing this spoiler-free post to help others decide if they’re ready for Isekai Quartet. I wanted to provide enough information about the series and the anime it features without spoiling anything. I even delayed posting so I could include season 2 info. I’ve been sitting on this post for years, hoping to include season 3 details too. But I’ve finally decided to publish it now. I hope it’s not too late (or too early). I dusted it off, tidied it up, and prepared it for you, dear reader and fellow anime enthusiast. Once we have movement and information for season 3 – I will update this post, or write a whole new one.

A really fun and often underappreciated detail is that the original cast for each of the original series still voice their respective characters on Isekai Quartet.

While it is possible to watch the Isekai Quartet anime without watching the main series that are used in the crossover, it is not recommended. It’s a crossover anime series that brings together characters from various popular isekai series.

The series relies heavily on the audience’s familiarity with the characters and their respective stories, so if you haven’t seen any of the main series, you may miss out on many of the jokes, references, and character interactions that make Isekai Quartet enjoyable. Therefore, it is recommended that you watch at least some of the main series before watching Isekai Quartet to fully appreciate the crossover and get the most out of the experience.
