MAYONAKA PUNCH Episode 9 – Welcome. This Is Your Family Home Now!
The snow is making me cold. Masaki seems down and questioning a lot. Who is that? A new character, yay. Ichiko having a day off and using it for meal prep makes me wonder if she knows what it means to have a day off. Why is Masaki gone and why are they taking a week off whith their timeline?
I agree with Tokage, a vacation that they have to film is not a vacation. I can not believe there are only three months left. Nice a new update on subscriber count, four hundred thousand. The girls are doing well but need so many more. The placement of Live made me laugh. I had been wonderintg how she would be doing with Masaki not being there.

Live’s placement and her reaction to Masaki’s phone call brought a smile, yet her growing obsession with Masaki is concerning. The reactions of the other vampires to Live’s antics provide a much-needed balance of humour.
Oh so it was Masaki’s mom. Makes perfect sense she went to help. The appendix is a serious issue. I adore how honest Live is, however, I do wonder how platonic her feelings are. Masaki shutting her down before she can really say anything is wild – and a part of me loves it.

Im instantly adoring Masaki’s little sister. I want her name. She is very responsible. Sakura is her name. Another Sakura to possibly add to my Characters Named Sakura post. Getting outside feedback from someone you trust is a good idea. Sakura is blunt and to the point. I adore her.

Eating at every drive through they come across? That challenge, sets my brain to work. It tells me, the girls are making a fair amount of money because that would be expensive, especially if I consider how many are in a very small radius around my house – nevermind how many I drive past just to get anywhere. Most shopping centres have a minimum of two and shopping malls even more.

Sakura is such a good sister. Live getting so excited to meet Sakura and then weirdly sniffing her is really on point. The banning of scenery is an interesting concept and I can see it being implemented in reality. A part of me really likes the concept of that ban, however the content creator side of me is flinching. Using that as an excuse to see Masaki though, that was genius of Live.

A family home video to bring Masaki into view with the channel sounds great. It would honestly get a lot of views considering the controversy. I do hope Masaki caves and does it. Having Live and her sister stage the video doesn’t sit right. Also Live using this as an opportunity to snoop is classic. I doubt Sakura knows that they are vampires, but I seriously doubt it will take long before the secret gets exposed. Sakura is brutal and brilliantly exposing her sister. The mention of hide-and-go-seek made me remember the hide-and-no-seek we used to play with our younger cousins – looking back, that was cruel. I would not want to play any physical games with Tokage. So we are cycling through all of the MayoPan cast pretending to be a sister. Ichiko’s flashbacks are always tragic.

This whole episode is really ripping into Masaki as an older sister. I love that it calls her out on her selfishness. I am glad that the editing is being divided between all of them. Ending off with them all giving Sakura their autographs felt perfect. I hope we see her in more episodes and see the result of the video made in this episode.
As the episode progresses, it becomes clear that it’s digging into Masaki’s role as an older sister, calling out her selfishness and shedding light on her character flaws. The episode concludes on a heartwarming note with the cast giving Sakura their autographs, leaving us hoping to see more of her in future episodes and the outcome of the video they created.
