Comic Con Africa 2026 Giveaway #3: Name a Character You Love

We have talked about what you think people should watch. We have talked about what you think people should read. Now I want the characters.

So for the third of my three Comic Con Africa 2026 Friday ticket giveaways, I want to know:

Who is a character you love?

They don’t have to be your number-one favourite character of all time. They don’t have to be the strongest, smartest or best-written character in their series.

You just have to love them in one way or another and for one reason or another. Maybe they’re the reason you started a series. Maybe they’re the reason you kept watching. Maybe they’re an absolute disaster and you love them anyway.

Just give me their name. (and if possible but not necessary, the series they are from.)

What kind of characters count?

A character with spiky grey hair and a ninja headband reading a green book with illustrations, set against a natural background.

I’m keeping this one broad. Your character can come from:

Anime, manga, manhwa, manhua, donghua, aeni or webtoons.

If the series fits within the anime, manga and Asian comics/animation spaces we normally talk about here, its characters are welcome. Hentai characters and hentai series are excluded and will not count as valid entries.

You don’t need to explain your choice

There is no essay required. You don’t have to tell me their complete backstory, defend every decision they’ve ever made or convince the rest of us that they are objectively the greatest character ever created.

Just comment:

Character name (and maybe the series so myself and others can also get to know them)

For example:

Piccolo – Dragon Ball Z
Rukia Kuchiki – Bleach
Viktor Nikiforov – Yuri!!! on ICE

How entries work

Each valid comment is 1 entry. You may leave up to 5 entries per platform for this competition. Each entry must name a different character.

So:

Comment 1: Rukia Kuchiki – Bleach = 1 entry
Comment 2: Ichigo Kurosaki – Bleach = 1 entry
Comment 3: Uryu Ishida – Bleach = 1 entry

Those are three entries. Commenting Rukia five times still gives you one valid entry, not five.

You can absolutely name a character that somebody else has already entered. If twenty people love the same character, all twenty people can have a valid entry.

You simply cannot repeat your own character for additional entries.

Please also keep it to one character per comment if you want each character to count separately. If you put five characters into a single comment, that comment counts as one entry.

Replies count too

Replies can count as entries if your reply contains a valid character name (and their series if you can). So if someone mentions a character you also adore, you’re welcome to start talking to them. You could also use your reply to nominate another character you love.

Bullying, harassment, aggressive behaviour and abusive comments will not count as entries.

GIFs and stickers

Character GIFs and stickers are especially welcome for this giveaway, but please also write the character’s name. I need to be able to identify the character for your entry to count.

What can you win?

Two Comic Con Africa 2026 Friday one-day passes for 25 September 2026, valid from 09:00 to 18:00

There are 6 Friday tickets to Comic Con Africa 2026 being distributed across my three giveaways.

If your name is drawn, you can choose whether you want 1 ticket or 2 tickets.

Once you’ve made your choice, I will tally how many tickets remain and continue drawing eligible winners until all six tickets have been allocated.

Important dates

Winner draw: 20 September 2026

If your name is selected, you will have 24 hours to claim your ticket or tickets. If you don’t respond within that period, another eligible winner may be drawn.

Who can enter?

You must live in South Africa to enter.
You do not need to follow @AllAnimeMag or tag a friend.
Follows, shares and tags are appreciated, but they are optional and do not earn additional entries.

Your character comments are your entries.
