When I started this blog, I didn’t really have a goal or any clear intent, it was a total learning curve. I never imagined I’d still be here, writing and growing, a whole decade later.

I’ve done a lot with this blog, and this blog has let me do even more.

Growth Over the Years

Somewhere along the way, without really noticing it, AllAnimeMag grew, quietly but steadily. Recently, I reached 1,1 million views (still can’t quite believe that number!) and I’m fast approaching 1,000 posts.

That’s almost thousand times I’ve sat down to write, to share a thought, a review, or just a little piece of myself. It’s honestly overwhelming to look back and see how much I’ve written, especially since it all began without any grand plan. Just me, my thoughts, and the love of anime and manga.

I still remember when even 100 views felt like a dream. Now, seeing that so many people have visited the blog, even if it’s just to read one post, means more to me than I can say.

I have a big post planned for post 1000. I have 943 published with this post and over 200 sat in my drafts with 15 posts scheduled. So 56 posts to go and I will hit my goal. I anticipate it happening in December.

I want to say a few thank yous

Thank you to you, the reader. I’ve never written with the mindset of “I want this to be read.” Every post begins with a simple thought — “I need to get this out of my head.” Then, somewhere along the way, I realise it’s going public and think, “Okay, maybe let’s make it a bit more presentable.”

Also, this might sound selfish, but I need to thank my younger self. As someone who struggles with depression, a lot of things in my life get started and then forgotten (and if you’ve followed me long enough, you can see the traces of that here on the blog). So reaching ten years, with visible growth and genuine determination, feels almost surreal to me.

Looking Back (and Ahead)

AllAnimeMag began as a small corner for me to ramble about whatever anime I was obsessed with that week. My first post was barely edited and definitely not polished, but it was mine, and that mattered.

Throughout this month, I’ll be sharing more personal highlights, achievements, and maybe even tackling my dreaded “F-word” questions, yes, favourites! It’s time I actually commit to some. Well, I will try to anyway…

Looking Ahead

As I celebrate ten years of AllAnimeMag, I can’t help but think about what I hope to achieve in the years to come. There’s still so much I want to do, explore, and create through this space.

  • To become properly recognised within the local anime and manga community, and to connect more with South African fans, creators, and events.
  • I would like to expand the blog into physical media within the next ten years, whether that’s a book, magazine, or printed collection of my favourite posts.
  • To never end the blog. Even if life gets busy or messy, I want AllAnimeMag to always have a heartbeat.
  • And to actually commit to and complete the series I start here, because every story deserves a proper ending.

This blog has been such a big part of my life, and I can’t wait to see what the next ten years will bring.

So truly, thank you. Thank you for reading, for commenting, for lurking, for sharing, or even just for being curious enough to click. You’ve helped make AllAnimeMag what it is today.

Here’s to ten years, and to many, many more stories to tell.

One response to “10 Years of All About Anime And Manga, a.k.a AllAnimeMag”

  1. 10 years, wow, incredible. AAA will always be a part of my anime memories as this is were I got most recommendations. That was when I used Facebook alot and was new to this whole anime thing having only seen what SABC 2 had to offer. Thank you for being there, and wish you growth and prosperity.
