Romi was born January 22, 1972. She was born in Edogawa, Tokyo.  She studied and graduated at Tōhō Gakuen College of Drama and Music.

Her most well known rolls are of tough, calm, and mature preteen or teenage boys. Her female rolls also fit to the tough/tom-boy characters.

She won the award “Best Main Character (female)” for her portrayal of Nana Osaki.
