This post is a simple look at who Najenda was as a character in the anime, Akame Ga Kill. I have kept the character break down spoiler-free as I can.
- Name: Najenda
- Teigu: Susanoo
- Height: 172 cm
- Team: Night Raid
- Age: mid-20’s
- Anime: Akame Ga Kill
Najenda has light purple eyes and wears a black eyepatch over her right eye. She keeps her silver hair cut short. She has a green mechanical arm where her right arm used to be. She can be found wearing a smart black pantsuit with a crisscross cami underneath the black blazer to somewhat cover her cleavage. She has a somewhat masculine appearance due to her style and has even led to her cohorts nicknaming her “The Hunk of the Rebellion“.
As the boss of the assassin organisation, Night Raid, she has proved herself to be quite sharp-minded and a skilled tactician. She is able to keep a level-head due to her nature as well as her previous experience on the battlefield. Thanks to that she is able to lead and guide the group of assassins under her care with a firm but gentle touch. She is not shy to crack a bad joke or awful pun, but is sensitive about others asking about her age, or them joking about her masculine appearance.
Overall she is a calm and collected woman who can adapt to the demands of her current situation.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Najenda is a very capable fighter but after her battle with Esdeath, she claims she can only use 40% of her former potential. Since getting her prosthetic mechanical arm she has learnt to use it to her advantage. She can use it to increase the momentum of her kicks and punches. It is so effective, she is able to decapitate her enemies with a single blow. If needed she is also able to fire her arm at a target and reel them in to her, as she had done with Leone.
Her ability to remain level headed and calmly process the situation she has managed to turn many situations around and find ways that can keep her team and herself alive. It has also helped her keep the Night Raid assassins in line.
Najenda is Voiced by:
- Risa Mizuno in the original Japanese (subbed) version
- Shelley Calene-Black in the English (dubbed) version
